I am long overdue in submitting this review as I’ve found it difficult coping since January without having my beautiful, almost 93 year old, Mother in my life.
After 9 long months today since she passed, I wish to express my very belated thanks and gratitude to Matthew and his team for giving Marie “Sylvia” Menzies the most beautiful, professional and respectful funeral anyone could imagine and wish for.
My friends and family who attended Mum’s funeral commented that it was the nicest funeral they had ever been to.
Seriously, there is not a day that goes by without me thinking of how compassionate and thoughtful Matthew and Pam were at a time when I needed help. I feel it’s got to be the most difficult time in one’s life to think straight and rationally and Matthew and Pam are just so highly experienced and handled every arrangement with absolutely no drama, right down to the minutest detail.
Matthew was always available to speak with. He was very caring and kept me fully informed as arrangements progressed and was only to willing to accommodate any requests I had. He gently guided me through the days preceding the funeral, on the day itself and even the days immediately afterwards.
Unfortunately at some stage in our life we all have to make decisions regarding funerals….believe me, allow Matthew Charles and his team to help in this difficult time and I can assure you, you will not be sorry. I truly cannot speak highly enough of the service and attention I received from Matthew Charles.
Thank you for giving Sylvia the send-off she so deserved.

I’m so grateful to Matthew & Pamela for their empathy, understanding and incredible professionalism.
I lost my wife when she was only 38, after a long battle with cancer. In those first few days afterwards I was struggling to comprehend my own loss while trying to support our six year old son.
Pamela was wonderful. She knew just what to say and never overwhelmed me with too much information. When she didn’t need to call, Pam just messaged me, keeping me informed and letting me know when/if I needed to make a decision.
My wife had requested a non-religious ceremony with a ‘young’ feel and lots of native flowers. Matthew & Pamela took care of everything, selecting an appropriate celebrant, taking care of the beautiful flowers and recommending the Macquarie Park crematorium facilities.
The service was beautiful. Matthew is so incredibly caring and thoroughly professional. I think it speaks volumes that he puts his own name on the business. In the end, it felt strangely positive. Losing my wife was devastating, but I think we said goodbye to her in an incredibly beautiful and personal way.

I payed $3000 dollars more for my mothers funeral (Guardian funerals)i and i thought that was beautiful
But going with matthew charles for my grandmother funeral was the best decision ive ever made
it was 100%better than my mothers
